Charles W. Hand, 78, of Shady Valley, TN passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his sister, Linda Hayes, residence. He was a life long resident of Shady Valley, TN born on April 27, 1941, a son of the late Paul and Ruby Hand. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sherry Hand and Karen Hand; and three brothers, James “Bud” Hand, Dennis Hand, and Larry Hand. He had worked at Iron Mountain Stoneware before it closed and was a farmer. He was a member of Sutherland Community Church in Shady Valley, TN. Charles enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Ball of Glade Spring, VA; two sisters, Linda Hayes and her husband, Jerry, of Abingdon, VA, and Connie Meredith and her husband, Glenn, of High Point, NC; two grandchildren, Hope Nash and Joshua Ball; three great grandchildren, Lillian Ball, Noah Nash, and Sophia Ball; a special friend, Peyton Shelly; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Penny F. Garrett Sarcoma Foundation, P.O.
