Benson, NC: Mrs. Betty McLamb Young, age 74, of 1869 Beasley Road died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at her residence. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 19, 2019, 11:00 AM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Robert Cooke. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. Mrs. Young was born May 1, 1945 in Johnston County to the late James O. and Leola Parker McLamb. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jesse McLamb and James “Peanut” McLamb and sister, Jean Norris. Mrs. Young was a seamstress, homemaker and a member of Unity Advent Christian Church. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, George C. “G.C.” Young; daughter, Tracy Y. Beasley and special friend, Robert Harper; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lisa Young, and Scott and Tricia Young all of Benson; grandchildren, Ashley Young, William Beasley and wife, Shannon, Coleman Beasley, Nathan Young, Kassidy Young and Kody Young; great-grandchildren, Alesa Beasley and Jackson Beasley; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home and other times at the home.
