Andrew’s Obituary After a full day spent with family and friends in some of his favorite places, Andrew Williams of Brule, WI fell asleep in his recliner and didn’t wake up. He passed away in the early morning hours of July 13, 2019. He was 89. Andy was born on September 21st, 1929, to George and Mabel (Downey) Williams, in Brule, WI. He met IrmaDel Harmon, the love of his life, when he was sixteen years old, and they married at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Superior on September 30th, 1950. They were inseparable until her death in 2014, and even then, he always kept her picture next to his chair. Andy worked for the railroad and served in the Army during the Korean War before moving his family to California in 1952. After 12 years in the big city, he decided the country was where he wanted to raise his children, so they moved back to Wisconsin in 1964. Andy worked for 25 years at Indianhead Trucklines in Superior before retiring in 1989. He and IrmaDel were deeply invested in the life of Mission Covenant Church, and cheerfully shared whatever they had—their home, their money, their cars, their time—with those in need. They loved Jesus, loved others, and were “Ma and Pa” to many in the community. Andy will be keenly missed by his three children, Larry (Gail) Williams of Overland Park, Kansas, David (Misel) Williams of Vienna, South Dakota and Deanna (Michael) Sims of Brule, WI; bothers Kenny (Arlene) and Ralph, and sister Patricia (John) Brown all of California; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews who lived with the family throughout the years; and a whole host of relatives and friends who looked up to him, and whose lives he impacted deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mabel, his beloved wife IrmaDel, eight brothers George, Robert, Charles, Paul, Lyle, Lewis, Glen and Ernest, and two sisters Mabel and Bessie Harmon Andy’s memorial service will be held at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar, WI on Sunday, July 21st. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., the service at 3 p.m. Pastor Darrell Nelson will be officiating. Read More
