Altavia’s Obituary Altavia Wharton Mayes was born March 22, 1921 to the late Cleveland and Edna Kirby Wharton in Trigg County, KY. She joined Rocky Ridge Missionary Bapt. church at an early age. She moved to Evansville, and united with the New Hope Missionary Bapt. Church and became active in various church organizations. She later moved to Princeton, and united with the Mount Zion Missionary Bapt. in Earlington, KY. ‘ Altavia Mayes passed on July 24, 2019 while in Christian Care Nursing Home in Kuttawa, KY. Survivors: Devoted niece – Patricia Lander Step daughter – Mary A.
