July 15 1999 July 25 2019 (age 20)
Alexis R. Berro was suddenly taken from us on Thursday, July 25, 2019 for reasons which are unbeknownst to us. Alexis was born on July 15, 1999 in Norfolk, VA to father Jose Berro (Nyoka Cowles-Berro) and mother Anita Maria McCoy (Demetrius Larry). Alexis was a beautiful young women with her whole life ahead of her and she had just started finding her way. Alexis attended Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, VA and though she did not graduate, she obtained a vast array of knowledge through reading; talking to people, asking questions and doing research herself. She loved music and one of her favorite songs was Tomorrow by Tevin Campbell. More recently, she had begun going to a studio and trying to dabble in singing which was a passion of hers too. Alexis held various fast food jobs but she clearly wasn’t in the job market for very long. And for those that really knew her, it was obvious that even though Alexis believed that no one really loved her , it is obvious today just how wrong she was. Although she was not a very religious person, she did on several occasions attend St. James Pentecostal Church, 210 Montague Road, Currie, NC, Officiated by District Elder Williams. She alway thought of it as our family church and she really enjoyed attending whenever she could. Her belief in God never swayed and at times when she thought no one was listening or paying attention, she would be talking to God asking him to show her the way. Alexis was very dedicated, loyal, dependable, loving and giving person most of the time but as previously mentioned, at times people wouldn’t get to see this side of her. She always wanted the best for all of her family and friends and would often go out of her way to help them. Alexis had just started to find her way because for a long time it seemed as though she was lost and unsure about the direction or purpose for her life. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving mom Anita McCoy (Demetrius); father Jose Berro (Nyoka); Three brothers – Antonio McCoy of Virginia Beach, VA; Tre’Sean ( last name) and Ja’Vont Berro both from Newport News, VA; Seven sisters – Mia Berro, Ja’Niyah Berro, Ayanna Larry, Ny’Zha Berro, Trinity Berro, Miracle Berro and finally Kharizma Berro from Newport News, VA. Three aunts – Marrieta (Arnido); Alta (Eddie) and Nieysha Gross (Marlow Malone); Grandmothers – Deborah Harris (Donald – deceased) and (Fructousa Berro – deceased); 1 nephews, 2 nieces, 2 great nephews and many cousins. Alexis will be greatly missed.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Alexis Renee Berro July 15 1999 July 25 2019 (age 20).
