William’s Obituary Ardmore native, William C. “Bill” Morgan, 80, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by a loving family, Thursday, June 27, 2019, following an extended illness. Son of the late Tom and Helen Morgan, Bill was born February 18, 1939 at Ardmore, where he grew up, attended school and was a graduate of Ardmore High School, the class of 1957. An auto mechanic, Bill and his dad, Tom, operated the Court House Garage for many years. He later worked as a mechanic at Michelin Tire Company until retiring in 2001. A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bill enjoyed bass fishing and quail hunting, in his leisure time. Bill served in the 4002d U.S. Army Reserve Service Unit and during the Cuban Missile Crisis his unit was stationed for a year at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. After completing his enlistment he was honorably discharged in 1963. Bill and Joyce Louise Piampiano were married April 23, 2000 at Gainesville, Texas. They had a collaborative and caring relationship. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. In addition to his wife, Joyce, Bill is survived by two sons, James Craig Morgan and his wife, Kelli and Robert Morgan and his wife, Becky, all of Ardmore; two daughters, Cheryl Jackson and her husband, Lloyd, and Sharon Acker and her husband, Lloyd, all of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Aaron, Jacob, Garrett and Seth Morgan and Jessica Copeland; three great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Peggy Morgan. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Donny Custar. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with Military Honors at graveside. Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons, Aaron, Jacob, Garrett and Seth Morgan, and Robert Brooks and Buddy Boydston. A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice or the building fund of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
