Proctor, 90, Corry, Pa., died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at his home. He was born in Union Township, Pa., a son of the late Lee and Dorothy Watrous Proctor. Bill was raised and educated in the Corry area and graduated from Corry High School in 1948. Following school he enlisted in the US Navy and served stateside as an engineman on the APCS Florida, sailing up and down the east coast. Upon his honorable discharge, Bill returned to the Corry area and worked for Chase Motors as an auto mechanic and then for Corry Jamestown Corporation. Then, in 1963, he moved to Maryland and worked as a heavy equipment operator. Bill returned to Corry and resumed working as a welder at Corry Jamestown Corporation, retiring in 1993. Bill was also a life long farmer, with his home farm being Belly Acres in Corry. He was an active member of the Corry Church of the Nazarene. Bill served the Lord in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, food pantry worker, Caravan volunteer and church board member, but, his favorite role was as head usher. Bill really enjoyed greeting everyone that came to the church. He also enjoyed working with computers, gardening and always liked helping people. Bill was a good man, he served his Lord, his family and his country with honor….a life well lived. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Fenno Proctor; a brother, Arthur Lee Proctor; and two brothers-in-law, Raleigh Shannon and Clair Savko. Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lola Eileen Sanden Proctor, whom he married May 25, 1974 in Corry, Pa.; three sons, William Clair “Buzz” Proctor of Corry, Pa., Jack C. Hewitt and his wife Kelly of Union City, Pa., and Steven A. Proctor and his wife Angela of Waterford, Pa.; two daughters, Sandra Chelton and her husband James of Corry, Pa., and Julie Sekol and her husband Matthew of Walnutport, Pa.; three sisters, Mercena Shannon and Laura Savko, both of Corry, Pa., and Lila Proctor (Ken Lohiser) of Erie, Pa.; a brother Donald Proctor and his wife Toyoko of Fairfax, Va.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Yoder Proctor of Columbus, Pa. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Carrie (David) Munsee, Kimberly Chelton (Nate Capela), Kevin (Karina) Chelton, Robert Hewitt, Kyle Hewitt, Dylan Proctor, Laekynn Proctor, Navier Ball, Nora Sekol, Anna Sekol and Liam Sekol; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may call the at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm., and attend the funeral service at the Corry Church of the Nazarene, 246 Marion St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday at 11am. Rev. Steven Rieder and Rev. Lynn Cirigliano will officiate. Military honors will be presented by Corry VFW Post #264 Honor Guard.
