Virgil’s Obituary PIZZALA, Virgil William – of Burton, MI, age 90, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 3 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Kyle McRill officiating. The family will receive visitors 1-3 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Garden Peninsula Historical Society and Museum, P.O. Box 6, Garden, MI 49835, in Virgil’s memory. Virgil was born in Fayette, MI on August 19, 1928, son of the late Herbert and Margaret (Watchorn) Pizzala. He married Nadine Lester on August 20, 1955 in Garden, MI. Virgil retired from General Motors after 37 years of service. He was a lifelong Detroit Tigers baseball fan. In his early 20’s, Virgil received a letter to try out for the Detroit Tigers baseball team. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Virgil is survived by his loving wife, Nadine; 4 children, Sheila (Bruce) Saunders, Mickey (Robert) Howell, Debbie (Jim) McRill and Jeremy (Jessie) Pizzala; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas (Angie) McRill, Kyle (Michelle) McRill, Hillary (Brent) Stockel, Drake Saunders, Katlyn Saunders, Anthony Howell, Derrick Howell and Braxton Pizzala; 5 great-grandchildren, Brenden McRill, Cameron McRill, Riley McRill, Maaliyah Stockel and Taelin Stockel; brother, Darrel (Mary) Pizzala; sister, Joanne LaBute; many other loving family members and friends.
