Laurel-Thomas Patrick Thompson, 45, of Laurel, Delaware passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born April 16, 1974 in Baltimore, a son of the late Willie Everett Thompson and Frances Marie (Pollander) Thompson. Tommy, as he was known by all that loved him, previously worked as a dishwasher at the Denny’s in Easton, Maryland and more recently had started training as a freight manager at the Dollar Tree in Delmar, Delaware. In his younger days he played minor league football in Baltimore and he was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan. He loved fishing, horror and action movies, playing pool, basketball and football. He recently began learning how to paint and he enjoyed painting the same scenes over several times to see his progress. He will be remembered for his big, soft heart and amazing sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Chelsey Marie (Sawyer) Thompson; children, Jazming, Elizabeth, Brooke and Tommy, Jr. “Little T”; a step-son, Matthew McCann; a sister, Debbie Jurceka and husband, Henry; a brother, Willie Roy Olds and wife, Lydia; nieces and nephews, Franklin Cooper, Michael Cooper, Kayla Cooper, Jaren Olds and Ada-Jane Flannery; and his mother-in-law, Lynn Brummett. Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaford Wesleyan Church, The Ark, 26630 Sus Highway, Seaford, Delaware. Following the services everyone is welcome to come back to Chesley’s mother’s home in Laurel for a time of food and fellowship. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
