Scott’s Obituary Scott Alan Stanberry-Evangelista, 38, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019. Scott was born October 20, 1980, in Jacksonville, where he lived until 1996 when he moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a 1999 graduate of Gautier High School (MS) and worked as an electrician for the past 19 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing “Magic Cards” with his buddies, fine cuisine and cooking for his friends and family, and spending peaceful time at the beach. Scott is survived by his mother, Debra Sheckells of Jacksonville, two sisters and one brother, Kristy Stanberry, Josh Sheckells (Crystal) and Emily Sheckells; six nieces and nephews, Alissa, Jinsey, JJ, Saskae, Morgun and Oliver; and numerous friends and family who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, James Stanberry; paternal grandfather, Wayne Stanberry; maternal grandparents, Roger and Joyce Rehberg; and his stepfather, Shawn “Julio” Sheckells. Rest in peace, Scott, you are loved much and missed dearly. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
