Rev. Willie Dean Tapp, age 69 of Summerville, GA passed away Monday- June 17, 2019 at his residence. Rev. Tapp was born October 16, 1949 to the late Willie B. and Roxie Timmons Tapp. He was a Baptist Preacher, retired from Mount Vernon Mills, and was a member of Teloga Baptist Church. Along with his parents Rev. Tapp is preceded in death by his brother, William Gordon Tapp. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 50 years Alice Eller Tapp; daughters, Ann Tapp and Diane (Wayne) Tapp; brothers, Willie E. “Bud” (Nancy) Tapp, and James E. Tapp; sisters, Ida Mae Kendall and Emma J. (Leon) Caylor; granddaughter, Emily (Joseph) Keith, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Thursday- June 20, 2019 at the Chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Smith, Bro. Russell Hedrick, Bro. Tony Weaver, and Bro. Steve Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Martin, Michael Tapp, J.R. Brown, Donnie Carver, Ted DeBerry, and Frank Tucker. Rev. Tapp will lie in state and the family will receive friends at Mason Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
