Patricia’s Obituary Patricia Ann Jones, 72, was a native and life-long resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Patricia was born on September 25, 1946 to the late Henry Alexander Smith and Louella Hughes. She was a devoted member of Greater St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr. Patricia was a gifted soloist and sang in the church choir. She was a graduate of Washington High School and attended McNeese State University. Patricia was previously employed by the Calcasieu Parish School Board and had taught at Wonderland of Play Head Start and Combre-Fondel Elementary. Patricia leaves to cherish her beloved memories, three children, Tammie Harris of Baton Rouge, LA., Nicoa Jones (Harold) LaSalle of Lake Charles, LA., and Cleveland Jones, Jr. of Dallas, TX; one stepbrother, Henry Lutcher of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Mary Louise Bates of Lake Charles, LA., Cheryl (Leonard) Willis and Wanda Bartie, both of Lake Charles, LA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Louella and Henry A. Smith, Sr; sisters, May Francis Cline and Maxine Smith; brothers, George Smith, Sr., Willie D. Smith, Rudolph Johnson, Henry “Butch” Smith, Jr., and Frank Edward Smith. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Greater St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 1801 2nd Avenue, Lake Charles, LA 70601 with Pastor Reverend Samuel C. Tolbert, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held in the church from 11:00 am until the time of funeral.
