Opal Mae Hart of Vichy, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Maries Manor in Vienna, Missouri at the age of 93. Opal was born on July 18, 1925 in Vichy, Missouri to the late Oscar and Rosa (Weaver) Honey. Miss Opal Honey was united in marriage to Richard Hart in the spring of 1942, this union was blessed with five children. They celebrated 63 years at the time of Richards passing in 2005. Opal was a longtime member of the Vichy Community Church, and enjoyed attending regularly until her health no longer permitted. She really enjoyed being outdoors sitting on her porch swing, watching the flowers that she had so carefully planted, grow and bloom each year. She also really loved planning her garden each spring; she would plan the garden so that she could can and freeze the fruits of her labor, so that they could be enjoyed by family and friends all year long. She made jams, and jellies, and cooked up big meals for all the holidays, and Sunday suppers. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be lovingly miss by all those who knew and loved her. Opal Mae Hart is survived by her children, Paul Hart and wife Becky, of Vichy, MO, Oscar Hart and wife Barbara, of Vichy, MO, and Jama Briggs and fiancée, Bruce Rench, of Belle, MO; grandchildren, Jasmine Hart, Haley Hart, Collin Curtis (Gabriela), Shawn Curtis (Danielle), Ashley Hart, Camellia, Lee, Lena, and Cathy; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents Oscar and Rosa, Opal was preceded in death by her husband Richard; sons, David and Kenneth Hart; and her 11 siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Gary Lane officiating. Interment will be at the Macedonia Cemetery.
