Opal’s Obituary Opal M. Donson, 91, of Dillsburg, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg. She was born October 29, 1927, in Kernstown, VA the daughter of the late Porter G. and Mary E. (Fletcher) Bunner. Opal was the widow of Richard R. Donson. She was a retired seamstress at the former Grantham Sewing Factory. Opal was a graduate of the Mechanicsburg High School Class of 1946 and was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church of God, Dillsburg. She was a dedicated farm wife and was an avid gardener and reader. Opal is survived by two daughters, Diana L. Palmer and her husband Carter of Florida, Yvonne A. Riedel and her husband John of York; one son, Charles R. Donson and his wife Victoria of Dillsburg; one sister, Joy Kline of Mechanicsburg; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 1 grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at 6:30 pm in the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, 146 South York Rd., Dillsburg. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dillsburg.
