Norma Jean Beer, age 62, of Bemidji, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with her family by her side. Services are pending. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bemidji. Norma was born on May 9, 1958 in Grand Rapids, MN to Norman and Edna Beer. She lived there until the age of 10 and then she moved to Pinewood, MN, until 1974, when she moved to Bemidji where she lived with her parents until 1990. At that time she moved to a group home for disabled adults. She lived in several different group homes over the years. Norma enjoyed paying Yahtzee with her mother and Aunt Myrtle, watching TV, and loved watching the birds at the feeders on the deck. She made greeting cards for family members and always had several waiting for them when they came to visit. Norma is survived by her sister, Patty Lesetmoe; brothers, Dirk (Sandra) Beer, Luke Beer, and Norman Beer, Jr.; sister-in-law, Eunice Risland; nieces, Theresa, Katie, Heidi, Crystal, Renee, and Jessica; and nephews, Lyle, Brian, Nathan, Sam, and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Risland.
