Norma Louise Bowman, age 84, of Ripley, Illinois passed away at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her residence. She was born May 13, 1935 in Beardstown, Illinois the daughter of James Frank and Dortha Carey Bowman. Norma was a cook at Snyder’sVaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville, Illinois for 13 years and retired from Beardstown Terrace after 20 years of service. She attended Beardstown Schools and had attended the Beardstown Assembly of God Church. Norma loved drawing cartoon characters, gardening, raising flowers and feeding her hummingbirds. Survivors include 3 children Dorothy Maxwell (Monte) of Beardstown, Patrick Bowman (Patricia) and Melanie Martin all of Ripley, Illinois. 2 brothers Robert Bowman of Beardstown and Tilford Bowman of Ripley. 2 sisters Mary Rainey of Peoria and Carolyn Landes of Beardstown. 16 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren also survive along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 children Michael Bowman, Pamela Pineda, Thomas Stell and Rosemary Bowman, 1 granddaughter Tori Bowman and 1 brother Jimmy Bowman. Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 15, 2019 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Ripley Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences for the family may be left on line at The Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt.
