Mr. Mark Sherman Fraser, 59, of Bowman, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 in Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. Born on October 17, 1959, he was the son of Frances Kathryn Whitmire Fraser and the late Sherman Clyde Fraser, Jr. He was also preceded in death by a brother Mathew Fraser. Mr. Fraser was a self-employed attorney. He served his country in the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Captain, serving as Commander of the Armored Cavalry Scout in Germany. Besides his love for hunting he was a military history buff. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Joy Fraser, Atlanta; a daughter, Dawn Fraser, Macon; Mother, Frances Whitlow, Anders, SC; sisters, Abigail Hardison (Jimmy), of Boone, N.C. and Suzanne Fraser, of Bowman. Memorial Services and interment will be held in the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW, local post, 1004 Calhoun Falls Hwy., Elberton, GA 30635 Arrangements for Mr. Mark Sherman Fraser are in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
