Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, 310 Main Street, Arlington (new building) with Lay Servant Janis Breitsprecher officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday and for one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home in Arlington. Interment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Larry Dean Boardman was born on September 21, 1943 in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Herbert Dean & Emily Marie (Schwanke) Boardman. He received his education at the Manchester school. Larry was united in marriage to Patricia Kay Salow on September 19, 1969 in Manchester, Iowa. Larry was a truck driver for 51 years with his wife, Patricia, driving with him, for over 20 years. Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding his scooter around Arlington, cheering on the Packers and Hawkeye football teams and the Hawkeye basketball team, watching his grandchildren play sports, going out to eat with the family, reading western books, watching western shows on television and collecting toy trucks. Left to honor his memory are his Son: Ronnie (Joan) Boardman of Arlington; 3 Daughters: Tracy Boardman of Arlington, Lynne (Terry) Winch of Garber & Pam (Tom) Winch of Guttenburg; 10 Grandchildren: Tyler Boardman, Connor Boardman, Caleb Boardman, Dustin Boardman, Emily Knibbe, Matthew (Courtney) Winch, Austin (Katie) Winch, Kara (Dustin) Berns, Nicole (Jordon) Parker & Jennifer (Kylie) Winch Bolsinger; 7 Great Grandchildren: Jace Parker, Madilyn Parker, Riley Parker, Paisley Winch Bolsinger, Lily Winch Bolsinger, Olivia Winch & Adeline Berns and 2 Sisters: Janet (Donald) Wendling of Manchester & Sandy (Steve) Ross of Manchester and Nieces & Nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Patricia on August 15, 2005, brother: Richard Boardman, 2 grandsons: Derek Knibbe and Jeffery Boardman and his in-laws: Walter & Amber Salow.
