Joyce N. Edens formerly of Farmington Hills, Michigan passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at American House in Spring Lake, Michigan. She was born February 14, 1921, in White County, Illinois, the daughter of Noble and Lena York Nolen. She married William L. Edens August 17, 1940, in St. Charles, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, her brother Bob Nolen and his wife Marilyn. Joyce taught school for 38 years, 29 years as a kindergarten teacher in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She leaves behind her two daughters, Suzanne Silverman and Diane Meyers (Paul), two grandchildren, Lisa Schanhals (Mike) and Mike Meyers (Jennifer) plus three great grandchildren, Nick and Tom Schanhals and Will Meyers and brother Bill Nolen (Wanda) of Prospect Heights, Illinois. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Services are entrusted to The Spring Lake Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge St, Spring Lake, MI 49456.
