John’s Obituary John Carroll Evans, Jr., son of John and Signe (Larson) Evans was born March 13, 1926 in Wheeling, WV. In 1964 he was offered a job working in the mailroom at Park Point Junior College in Downtown Pittsburgh. A former small business training college established in 1933 that had grown and expanded its programs to became a two-year junior college in 1960, Park Point was granted four-year status in 1966 and achieved university status in 2003. John continued as a mail clerk and elevator operator through Park Point’s growth from a one building institution to a university campus, retiring after 45 years in July 2009. In 1965 John married the love of his life, Gwynne Irene Reisz. With the support of family and friends, they adopted a Korean infant in 1971. Active in their local church, John was ordained a deacon at Bellevue Christian Church in 1993. John was predeceased by his wife of 53 years. He is survived by his daughter and two grandchildren.
