Joe Mac Sorrells age 73 of El Dorado passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Pine Hills Health and Rehab Center in Camden, AR. Joe Mac was born on September 24, 1945 in Union County to the late Gurtha Marie Jerry Sorrells and Harold Wilson “Jack” Sorrells. He formerly worked at Reed’s Body Shop, as an auto body specialist, for many years and then Jack’s Amusement Co for twenty plus years until their close. He then went to work for Birmingham Vending, serving several more years before his retirement. Joe Mac was a member of East Faulkner Church of Christ and formerly enjoyed hunting and fishing. After his retirement, he especially enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales. Joe Mac was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gayle Harper, Ann Hill and Hope McGoogan; also by a step son, Doug Crain. Survivors include; his wife of almost 32 years, Mignon Durham Sorrells of El Dorado; two sons, Jack Sorrells and wife Stacey of El Dorado and Shane Sorrells of Parkers Chapel; one daughter, Roslyn Nipper and husband David of Parkers Chapel; one step daughter, Michelle Stegall and husband Kent of El Dorado; four Grandchildren, including Noah Sorrells, whom he was especially close to; four sisters, Dean Roberson of Lake Village, AR, Tip Vestal and husband Mouzon of Strong, June Kirtley and husband Kenneth of Little Rock and Joy Pagan of El Dorado; one brother, Ricky Sorrells and wife Alice of El Dorado along with a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by Funeral services at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at East Faulkner Church of Christ with Bro. Scott Johnson and Bro. Ronnie Robins officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery on ORear Road under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southern Christian Children’s Home, P.O.
