Jimmy was born on June 25, 1940 in Lacoochee, Florida to Thomas “Scottie” Green and Lessie Spivey Green. He was one of eight children. He was a lifetime resident of this area. He served in the USMC from 1957-1960 (“This Bad Ass Marine got out as a Buck Sergeant”) He loved his country and would lay down and die for the United States of America. He was a member of King Lake Fish Club and a member of the VFW Post#10137 Jimmy enjoyed fishing, camping, playing poker with buddies, and he also loved to reminisce about the good ole days of growing up in Lacoochee and the fond memories of being a Marine. Jimmy walked his own path and lived his life to the fullest. He loved being with his family and friends. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Rita, his Australian Blue Heeler Blu, his children Mark Green, Jo Ann Allison (Jeff), Denise Green (Matt), John Green, Sonya Green, 12 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren, his sisters Judy Johnson (Harlan) Ann Ratliff, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Matt Green, his parents Thomas “Scottie” Green Sr and Lessie Spivey Green, his brothers Tommy, Billy, Gene, and Johnny and his sister Joyce Myrick. Burial Service will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 11:00 Following the burial service there will be a Celebration of Life at the VFW Post #10137 6036 Co.
