Harry W. “Bill” Reed, 73, of Lebanon died Monday, June 24, 2019, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sage Schott-Reed with whom he celebrated 32 years of marriage. Born in Providence, RI, on September 30, 1945, he was the son of the late Dr. Harry Wilson and Rose Mary (Murphy) Reed. He was an attorney and partner in the Buzgon Davis Law Offices, Lebanon, for 33 years and also served for several years as Assistant District Attorney for Lebanon County. Bill served in the U.S. Army, achieved the rank of First Lieutenant, and was deployed to Korea. He graduated from Northern Lebanon High School, Penn State University with a degree in Economics, and the University of Wyoming School of Law. Bill was a member of the Writer’s Club, served as Editor of his Law Review, the Million Dollar Club, and various other organizations. He served as Captain of the Penn State Fencing Team. He was an avid fan of Penn State Football and held season tickets for more than thirty years. After his retirement, Bill took up creative writing and drafted a memoir about his hitchhiking journeys and military service in the 1960s. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by son Eric Reed and his wife, Kenly Ames of Bowling Green, KY; daughter Arwen (Reed) Bate and her husband, Robert of the United Kingdom; daughter Noelle Reed; grandchildren Colin, Neil, Ayden, Dalilah, Alicia, and Ella Rose; brother Robert Reed and his wife Suk Cha of Maui, HI; sister Mary Reed Boyer and her husband James of Harrisburg; sister Rosemary Steranko and her husband Gregory of Carlisle; sister-in-law Daisy Enck of Lebanon; sister-in-law Maryann Combs and her husband Madison of Woolrich, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Anne (Reed) LaPrise. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30-11: 00 a.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Memorial services will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation. Committal of his ashes will take place with Military Honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
