Gloria Jean Hooser June 23, 1941 – June 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Gloria Jean Hooser, 78, of McAlester, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at McAlester Regional Health Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Mike Perry officiating. An inurnment will take place at a later date at North McAlester Cemetery. Gloria was born on June 23, 1941 in Pittsburg to Claude and Bonnie (Nelms) Tillman. She attended Savanna public schools, and began working in production at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. She later attended beauty college and earned her beautician’s license. After a few years, she returned to the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant as a clerk and typist until transferring into the transportation department. She retired in 1997 as a motor vehicle operator. Gloria enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Jackie Hooser of Durant, Robin Hooser and wife, Anna, and Sonya Reid, all of McAlester; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, brothers: Donnie Tillman and wife, Linda, Leroy Tillman and wife, Joyce; and a number of nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Kathleen Hooser, grandchildren: Eric H. Reid and Fredrick M. Warden, two brothers, and two sisters.
