Mr. Earnie Gilbert Capps, Jr., age 77, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on the evening of Tuesday, June 18, 2019, with his loving family by his side. Born on July 26, 1941 in Union County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ernie Capps, Sr., and Anna McCormick Capps. Earnie was a member of Victory Temple Full Gospel Church in Nebo. He loved to read and knit, and was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having had retired after twenty-two years of faithful service. He was a patient and loving husband who will be missed very much. Earnie leaves behind his wife of forty-five years, Kathy Capps; a son, Michael Capps; two sisters, Ellen and Barbara; and two brothers, Milas and Ricky. Earnie also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
