DOROTHY ANNETTE BENNETT, age 82 of Jemison, passed away on June 26, 2019 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. She was born in Montgomery, AL on July 8, 1936; the daughter of the late Jessie Bryson and the late Grace Proctor Bryson. She worked for many years as a waitress and later a truck driver. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active member of the New Salem Baptist Church where she and her husband, Jessie, loved attending. She is survived by: Husband of 49 years, Jessie James Bennett of Jemison; Son, Terry Crow of Jemison; Daughter, Michelle Bennett Blankenship of Munford; Son, James Bennett of Jellico, TN; Son, Jessie Glenn Parden of Jemison; Son, Wayne Bennett of Prattville; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Debra Easterling of Prattville; Brother, Charles “Chip” Bryson of Prattville; and Brother, Freddy Bryson. She is preceded in death by: Parents, Jessie and Grace Bryson; and Sister, Sandra Bankston. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Reeser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the New Salem Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
