Obituary for Dennis William Edwards Dennis William Edwards, 67, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday June 15, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. Born February 10, 1952 in Eustice, Florida, he had lived in Forsyth County for the past several years. Mr. Edwards retired from Lockheed Martin after over 20 years of service and was a U. S. Army veteran of Vietnam. Dennis possessed an unending devoted love of Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Chestatee Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his mother and devoted stepfather, Shirley and Bernie New; father, Robert Edwards; and brothers, Bruce Edwards and Michael New. Surviving are his wife, Patricia “Pat” Edwards, Dawsonville; son, Scott Edwards, Cumming; stepdaughter and son in law, Elizabeth Southerland and Chris Barnett, Marshall, NC; grandchildren, Joel Dillard, Jerome Barnett; sister, Patti Postell, Orlando, FL; brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Loan New, Oviedo, FL; nephews, Brandon New, Jacob Smith; and nieces, Jessica Smith and Jenna Smith. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday June 19, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Chestatee Worship Center. Pastor Ricky Stepp will officiate.
