Delton’s Obituary Delton E. Moody, 92, of Hemphill, Texas (formerly of Houston) passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Shady Shores of Hemphill. He was born November 10, 1926 in Yellowpine, Texas to David Dennis Moody and Pearlie Leona Moore Moody. Delton was a native of Sabine County. He was a resident of Houston for many years where worked as welder for Alloy Welding. After retirement, he moved back to Hemphill and lived there for several years before moving to Cut and Shoot, Texas to be closer to his family. Delton was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Rutha Jean Moody of Hemphill; sons, David Moody and wife, Denise, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Glenn Moody and wife, Lesa, of Cut and Shoot, Texas; grandchildren, Alissa, Glenn, Melissa, and Lauri; and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Bo Owens officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to service Tuesday. Burial will follow services in Fairmount Cemetery, Hemphill, Texas.
