Cobleskill- Cynthia Joy Shuart, 62, of State Route 7, died Friday, June 21, 2019 in the comfort of her home. Born May 19, 1957, Cindy was the daughter of Joseph M. and Grace (Huff) Grasso. She was a 1975 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School. Cindy’s career was with State Farm Insurance Company in Cobleskill for thirty years. She was office manager until her health prevented her from continuing to work. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to visit with people and was a social butterfly, which brought many of her friends to rally for her when she suffered a severe stroke five years ago. Forever cherishing her memories are her husband, Gregory P. Shuart, whom she married July 2, 1977; two children: Josh (Crystal) Shuart of Schoharie and their children: Xander and Ryker; Janelle Sossei of Richmondville and her children: Liam and Brenna; her niece, Kari (Kevin) Sanford of Cobleskill and their children: Kiersten (Caleb Cooper), Joel and Lindsey. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Robin Ressler officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held prior to the service at the funeral home, from 11AM to 1PM on Thursday. Memorial contributions in Cindy’s name may be sent to Cobleskill Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 451, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
