Carolyn’s Obituary Mrs. Carolyn Gargus Bruce, age 81, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at her residence. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a retired teacher formerly employed by Marshall County Schools, Hopkins County Schools, Northside Christian School and Mid-Continent University. Mrs. Bruce is survived by her husband of 67 years, Cloys Bruce; three sons, Mark (Tammy) Bruce of Mayfield, KY, Greg (Brenda) Bruce of Cadiz, KY and Boyce “Bo-Bo” (Jenny) Bruce of Manitou, KY; one daughter, Gwen (Chris) Villines of Providence, KY; one brother, Ben (Suzy) Gargus of Idaho; one sister, Mary Ann (Ronnie) McGuire of Lafayette, IN; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robin Bruce; two brothers, Charles Ray Gargus and Bo Gargus; one sister, Margaret Key; and her parents, Charley Boyd and Mary Emily Wilson Gargus Speed. Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Gargus Bruce will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. C. W. Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
