Betty Jean Dickerson, age 98, of Beach, North Dakota passed away on February 15, 2019 in Bismarck, North Dakota. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, June 17, 2019 at the United Community Church with Pastor Warren Maxted officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Beach has been entrusted with the arrangements. Betty was born in Beach on March 21, 1920 to Marshall and Olive (Woodbury) Miller. She was one of seven children. After graduating from High School in 1938, Betty attended Long Beach Junior College. Betty was united in marriage to Dick in November 1939 in Texas. After marriage, they lived in Hapeville, Georgia. Later they moved to Miami, Florida and resided there until Dick retired from Delta Airlines as Captain. All and all they traveled and enjoyed life. They moved to Beach in 2007. Betty had come home! In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles (which she always did in ink) and reading. Betty was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a delightful woman who always had a twinkle in her eye. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Marshal and Olive; her husband of sixty-nine years, Beverly Claxton Dickerson (Dick); her sister, Mary Marjorie Olson and her brothers, Rex, Marshall Jr. (Bud) and Donald (Musty). Betty is survived by her daughters, Beverley Phillips of Beach and Lisa (Don) Sutton of Beach; her sons, Don (Lori) of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Dale (Robin) of North Hills, California; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Cameron of Wibaux, Montana; her brother, Bruce Miller of Glendive, Montana and by “Little Dog” her companion for many years.
