Allen J. Zupanci, 63, of Hillview passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at his residence. He was born, March 21, 1956, in Hillsboro, the son of Joseph and Dorothy Kieslar Zupanci. Allen married Anita Wratchford in 1975. She preceded him in death in 1980. He then married, Jill Proffer, June 23, 1990, at the Hillview Baptist Church. Surviving is wife, Jill Zupanci of Hillview; son, Adam (companion, Lydia Rhodes) Zupanci of Hillview and sister Susie (Joe) Boston of Irving. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason Zupanci. Allen graduated from Hillsboro in 1974 and joined the Air Force. He had six weeks basic training tech school at Sheppard Air Force Base, 9 months at Barksdale Tech School in Shreveport, LA, for airplane engine mechanic, and finally electrical training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. From 1975-1980, he was in the Red Horse Division at Witchata, KS. He served in South Korea for a year and he was discharged from the military in 1981. Allen was employed at the Vocational Tech School in Springfield, Mobil Chemical from 1987-1995, and Olin Corporation in Alton, from 1995-2016. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 80 and Hillview American Legion Post 1210. Allen was an avid hunter. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019, at Daws Family Funeral Home with interment in Fernwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Fernwood Cemetery.
