William J Diamond January 11 1943 April 24 2019 (age 76)

William J. Diamond, 76, passed away Wednesday April 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mobile, Alabama, January 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Margaret (Diamond) Thompson. Bill worked for several companies including the Simmons Company, Savage Arms and the R.E. Phelon Company. He was a US Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War. He was on the Directors Staff and volunteered at the Shriners Hospital and was a member of the Elm Belcher Lodge of Masons in Agawam. He was an avid bowler and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Charlene (Parent) Diamond, his loving children, Michelle Diamond, Suzanne Corriveau and her husband Robert and Laura Ryder and her husband Charles all of West Springfield, his sister, Virginia Bush of Saraland, AL, his beloved grandchildren, Allyson, Rebecca, Shelby, Mollyann and Geoffrey, and was predeceased by his daughter Pamela Redfern who passed away in 2009. A funeral home service will be held Thursday at 11:45AM from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield with burial to follow in the Mass. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8PM. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA. 01104 or to the Rays of Hope 280 Chestnut St. Springfield, MA. 01199.
