Cook, Virginia Lee (Bell) 91, passed peacefully into heaven on Friday, May 3, 2019 at home in Bellflower, California surrounded by family and caregivers. Virginia was born to Charles Henry Bell and Essie May (Madzker) Bell in Senath, Missouri on Thursday, September, 15, 1927. She married Charles Ivan Cook on December 11, 1943 in Paragould, Arkansas. She had stolen his handkerchief one day as well as his heart at her high school. He chased her, caught her and never looked back. Virginia was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a successful businesswoman, Charles and Virginia moved to California from Arkansas in 1956. They owned and operated Courtesy Service, a wholesale sundries business, and multiple Taco Bell franchise locations in Southern California. Charles and Virginia also enjoyed traveling, especially to visit family. They were married 73 years at his passing in 2017. Virginia was a 6th grade Sunday school teacher, Bible Study leader and mentor to many young women, She was a stalwart woman of faith who exemplified a strong work ethic. She was determined and committed to her family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bellflower. She is survived by her Sons, Kenneth (Margie) Cook and Rick (Urain) Cook; Daughter Diane (Jim) Mitchell; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren (with #5 on the way); and sisters Wanda Hanson, Jean (Lee) Massey, both of Hanford, California and Marion (Leroy) Smithee of Monette, Arkansas.
