Verna Jean (Petrikin) Unger, age 67, of Clinton, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 25, 2019. Verna was born on June 11, 1951, in Wapello, Iowa, to David and Barbara (Day) Petrikin. She married Gary Unger on January 21, 1995. She attended West Branch high school and Scott Community College. Verna was very involved with her church. She had a passion for animals, especially her beloved cats. Verna will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary; her children: Clem (Kasie) Morrison III, Knoxville, IA, and Becky Morrison of the Quad Cities. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Raynn, Samantha, Dustin, Katie, Kaden, and Quinceanna, great-grandchildren: Christopher and Brett, twin sister, Vicki Darnell, Muscatine, IA, sisters: Terry Drost, Rock Island, IL, Jeanie Styninger, Canton, IL, and very special friends Patty and Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 11:00am at The Clinton Church of Christ. 210 N. 13th Street. Clinton, IA. A luncheon will follow in the church’s fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
