Mrs. Linda Mathis Baity, 72, of Winston-Salem, entered into the presence of her Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 27, 1946, in Forsyth County to Irene Smith Mathis and Roy F. Mathis. Linda was a member of Berean Baptist Church where, for many years, she held numerous positions such as choir director, organist, secretary, Sunday school teacher, school teacher, and music teacher. For 18 years, Linda was the music teacher at Woodland Baptist Christian School and finished her tenure at Berean Baptist Christian School. She was promoted to Heaven in the presence of her husband of 38 years, Dr. Ron Baity; daughter, Penny Krystyn; brother, Ricky Mathis; and church secretary, Michelle Lonaberger. Also surviving are her five grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pamela Mathis and innumerable music students, many of whom actively serve in ministry today. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Berean Baptist Church, 4135 Thomasville Rd.,Winston-Salem, NC, with Dr. Ron Baity and Attorney Dr. David Gibbs, Jr., officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Berean Baptist Church. The family would like to mention a special thank you to Michelle Lonaberger, who put her life on hold for 12 years and became a special caregiver for Mrs. Baity.
