Larry Russell Harris August 15, 1940 – May 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Larry Russell Harris, 78 of Springfield, died at 3:16 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Heritage Health. Born on August 15, 1940, Larry was one of eight children born to Nelvin and Mildred (McMann) Harris. After he graduated from high school, Larry joined the Navy and served the United States proudly for eight years. He later enjoyed working as a Surgery Technician at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield for 25 years until his retirement. Larry is survived by his siblings: Robert Harris and Melva Harris, both of Springfield; and a special niece: Jean Goble of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Dorothy Jones, and brothers: George, William, James, and Donald Harris. Following Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no service. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
