Karon “Sissy” Dixon of St. James, Missouri passed way peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 1, 2019. Sissy was born in Salem, Missouri on March 10, 1953 to the late Lawrence and Ruby (Camden) King. Miss Karon King was untied in marriage to Mr. Kenneth Dixon on March 28, 1975, this union was blessed with a daughter. Sissy spent her entire career in the education field; she was a well liked and respected teacher in St. James for many years. She also worked at the Library, and Boys and Girls Town. Sissy was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, she dedicated two rooms of their home to St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia. Outdoors was another place to find Sissy , in her younger years she loved floating the Current River, the family would load up and go floating every weekend, in later years she would’nt get in a boat. Sissy raised goats, and loved her dogs. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of St. James. She was passionate about her love for her family, especially the grandchildren, and loved the “girl trips” that she took with her daughter and granddaughter. Karon Jewel Dixon is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Dixon, of the home; daughter, Staci Wilson and husband Bryan, of Jerome, MO; granddaughter, Taylir Wilson, of Jerome, MO; great-granddaughter, Emmi Heyer; brother-in-law, Pete Dixon, of Eminence, MO; sister-in-law, Pat Barton, of Rolla, MO; special niece, Cassey and husband Brad, of Salem, MO; great niece, Azalea; a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Ruby King; brother Aaron King; sister, Mary Ball. A Celebration to honor her well lived life, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Jerome, MO.
