Joseph E Urbanowski Jr April 30 1939 April 28 2019

Joseph E. Urbanowski, Jr. was born on April 30, 1939 and raised by his loving parents, the late Joseph and Mary (Klezos) Urbanowski, with his 6 brothers and sisters. He lived in Enfield until he joined the Coast Guard and served his country from January 1958 until January 1962. He met the love of his life in 1964. He and Margaret “Peg” (Page) Urbanowski were married on October 21, 1967. They built a home and started their family in Glastonbury, CT them moved to East Windsor where they raised their 3 children. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Ketch Brook Club. He worked at Pratt and Whitney for 35 years, and after raising his family and working hard for all of those years, moved to Massachusetts where he and Peg enjoyed retirement on the Lake. His children and grandchildren will never forget boating, tubing, fishing, skating, and snowmobiling there, along with family trips to Disney, Narragansett, and too many day trips and short vacations to mention. We will always cherish those memories. Joe loved watching, playing and coaching sports (especially baseball & softball), and was a loyal Patriots and Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening. He had a particular gift for building, restoring and repairing countless vehicles and machines over the years, and took immense pride in his work. He gave new life to old things and could see the beauty and value in them when others could not. His final move was to beautiful Cummington, MA where he and Peg made his last house a home, adding a beautiful garage, and clearing and gardening on their land. He passed away there on April 28th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family who will always remember his strength, generosity, sense of humor and his common sense, along with the advice he offered over the years. He will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Joe’s path to Heaven was cleared by his parents Joseph and Mary, and his sisters: Elizabeth Wilcox, Gloria Letizio and Marie Knybel .
