John Michael Kelly March 04 1930 May 10 2019

John’s Obituary Our beloved Husband, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, lifetime learner and quick-witted John Michael Kelly, 89, passed away on the morning of May 10, 2019. John Kelly, loving and devoted husband of 62 years to Anna Kelly passed away at his home in Placentia, CA. He is survived by his wife Anna, and three children, Peter (Shari), Andrew, and Teresa (Greg). He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler (Liz), Hannah, Brian, Noah, Patrick (Sarah) and Ryan (Erin) and greatgrandchildren Loralee, Landon and Quinn, his loving sister Jeanne (Kelly) Hart (Jim deceased) and Walter Kelly (Helga). John was born March 4, 1930 in Hoboken, New Jersey to John W. and Ann Kelly (Doran) at home on 811 Washington Street. He was a student of SS. Peter and Paul elementary school and graduate of Demarest High School and obtained his BA from Upsala College in economics and history. He toured Europe while in the US army. Proud of his military service and proud to be part of the greatest generation who ever lived. He had a successful 35-year career with Equitable Insurance in New York city where he was called “Jack”. He was a dedicated parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church. John enjoyed a lifetime membership in the Elks Club helping with many charitable programs and social events. We all enjoyed many beautiful trips to the Jersey shore and Canada with dear family and friends, swimming, relaxing, horseback riding and fishing. Upon relocation with Equitable to Orange County in 1974 he and Anna immediately became part of St. Joseph’s Parish in Placentia. He loved being a member of the Knights of Columbus partaking in many enjoyable gatherings. He was an usher at Mass for many years. We can’t envision going on without him, but we will for him and our beautiful Mom. He lit up our lives with his undying love of and dedication to our Mom and our family, his wit, his silly jokes, his colorful stories, his life, his smile. He never liked good bye. He preferred so long until we can be together again. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph Parish, Placentia California Knights of Columbus would be greatly appreciated. Read More
