Obituary of Joe Kerr Varnado ABILENE- Joe Kerr Varnado, 75, of Abilene passed away on Monday, May 24, 2019 at Hendrick Hospital. Joe was born on December 26, 1943 in Jefferson County, Texas to Joseph Howard and Grace Kerr Varnado. He spent his youth in the Beaumont area and moved to Abilene in 2007. He joined First Baptist Church in Abilene in 2007 and attended Bible Study and worship services there until his death. Joe was preceded in death by his parents. Joe was an avid reader. Of the many books he read, his favorite was the Bible. His hobbies included art drawing, studying the history of wars, and old airplanes. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 28, at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery at 11 AM, officiated by Reverend C. V. Blake. Joe will lie in repose for viewing at Hamil Family Funeral Home, on May 28, 9:00 – 10:30 AM.
