Jo Ann’s Obituary Mass of Christian Burial for Jo Ann Bradford, age 94, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Dan Andrews will be Celebrant, with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary. Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements. Jo Ann (Hughes) Bradford, age 94, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2019, at Heritage of Bel-Air Nursing Home, Norfolk, Nebraska. Jo Ann was the daughter of Joseph E. Hughes and Anna Taylor (Miller) Hughes. She grew up on the family farm outside Battle Creek with her siblings, Helen, Jane, Howard and Michael. Jo Ann was a graduate of Battle Creek High School and also briefly attended Mount St. Scholastica College in Atchison, Kansas. Jo Ann married James Corwin Bradford on August 30, 1943, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek. She and Jim were members of Sacred Heart Parish in Norfolk since 1959. Jo Ann was also an active participant in the Sacred Heart Parish Altar Society. Jo Ann enjoyed playing the piano and organ and participating in the musical productions of church choirs. She was a parish organist with Sacred Heart Parish for fifty years. She was also an enthusiastic member of P.E.O. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband Jim and their son, Michael Anthony (Tony). Her sisters Helen and Jane also predeceased her. She is survived by her sons, Jim, Jr. (Helen) and Stephen (Regie); her daughters, Mary Jane Pease (John) and Rosanne Oldaker and daughter-in-law, Anne Kayton Bradford. Her brothers, Howard and Michael survive her. Jo Ann is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
