Jimmie L. Boxx of Salem, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 peacefully at home. Jimmie was born in Hardage, Missouri on March 14, 1938 to the late Luther D. and Ethel (Shepherd) Boxx. He was united in marriage to Bobbi Boxx on September 28, 1957, this union was blessed with four children. Sadly Bobbi passed away in 2008. Jimmy worked at the Chrysler Plant in Fenton, Missouri for many years. He was a very talanted and gifted musician, and had the opportunity to open for some of the greatest country music stars of his time, such as Conway Twitty, Crystal Gayle, Merle Haggard, Barbara Mandrell, and Brenda Lee, to name a few. He was also on the road with his own band Jimmy Boxx and The Country Nights. Jimmy was a longtime member of the Revival Tabernacle Church, he loved gospel music and put out a gospel album a few years ago. Though he may have built Chrysler cars, he was a true Cadillac Man. It was through his Church, and singing the gospel that he would meet Linda Skaggs, she brought joy into his life that he missed after Bobbi’s passing. He will be lovingly missed by all that knew and loved him. Jimmy L. Boxx is survived by his fiancé, Linda Skaggs, of Salem,MO; children, Danny Boxx and wife Becky, of St. Louis, MO, Mitch Boxx and wife Janet, of Cape Canaveral, FL, Michael Boxx and fiancé Becky Collins, of Salem, MO, and Christine Rabinor and husband Tim, of House Springs, MO; sister, Betty Poole, of Salem, MO; grandchildren, Christopher Boxx (Katie), Joshua Boxx (Amanda),Nathaniel Boxx, Ashley Boxx, and Timothy Rabinor; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Skyler, Mason, and Marshall Boxx, and Hunter Craddock; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. In addition to his parents Luther and Ethel Boxx, and wife Bobbi Boxx, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer Lee, and Dennis Ray Boxx; sister, Fredia Sansauie; brother-in-law, Wayne Poole, and nephew, Keith Poole. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Dale Kirkendoll officiating, internment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
