James’ Obituary James Diaz Trujillo (Papo) age 84 passed away peacefully at his home in Cedar City on May 5, 2019. He was born and raised in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He was the oldest son of Selso and Mary Trujillo who predeceased him. At the age of 14 James married his sweetheart Carey Garcia from Silver City, New Mexico. They moved to Glendale, California where he took a job for the County of Los Angeles. He worked hard and studied hard until he was promoted to an electrician. He installed traffic signals throughout Los Angeles County. He retired from the County of Los Angeles at the early age of 55. After retirement he moved to Cedar City, where he has been a resident. James was a loving husband, son, father, papo, uncle, brother and friend. He coached little league for many years in South El Monte. The boys he coached still remember him as Mr. Trujillo. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons Johnny and James. He enjoyed going on long rides; it did not matter where, as long as he was in the car. James enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He loved his children and grandchildren and was so proud of all of them. He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Carey Garcia. He is survived by his daughter, Dolly (Marc), sons, James (Liz) and Johnny, (Crystal); grandchildren, Joe (Natalie), Jeanette ( Maurice), James( Brandi), Anthony (Keilani), Vanessa (Andrew), Charlene ( Ignacio), Courtney, Brianna, Avery, Maddison; great grandchildren, Melissa (Josh), Nicolette, Nicholas, Jennifer Aliyah, Ethan, Jamie, Daniel, Aubrey, Khaleesi, Juliette, Julius, Kristopher, Karter, and great, great granddaughter Brynlee. Funeral services to be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Church (690 Cove Dr, Cedar City). Viewing will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City). Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Read More
