Gary Robert Lyons July 31 1946 May 13 2019

Gary Lyons, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019. Gary was born July 31, 1946 in Houston, Texas and graduated from Spring Branch High School. He attended Texas A&M University, where he was a proud member of the Corp of Cadets and always remained a devoted Aggie sports fan – through good seasons and bad. Owner of Rafter Seven Designs, Gary took great pride in designing home plans for numerous clients and friends. He had a great love of life and family and truly enjoyed living in the country. Away from work, Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going for a drive to see someplace new, watching old Western movies and his beloved Astros, a good nap, Hostess Cupcakes, planning out his next stop at Cooper’s Pit Barbeque, and sitting on his porch looking out over the land in Huntsville or the Davis Mountains at his weekend home in Alpine, TX. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lyons and mother, Julia Lyons. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Diana Lyons; daughter, Jennifer Lyons; son, Richard Lyons, and wife Anna; son, Chris Meighen, and wife Kaleigh; son, Mike Meighen, and wife Lauren; grandchildren Hazel Maurer, Wyatt Lyons and baby Meighen (due August 3, 2019); brother, Chris Lyons and wife Karen; cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert N. Lyons PGA Scholarship Fund. www.stpga.com/form.php?id=56b7b3a95b897a06d034f241e6eb3d9a To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Gary Robert Lyons please visit our Sympathy Store.
