Clarence’s Obituary Mr. Clarence Albert Phillips, age 68, of Granite Falls, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Carolina Medical Center. He was born in Caldwell County on November 2, 1950 to the late Raymond Albert and Annie Moser Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Clarissa Alasyn Phillips. Mr. Phillips worked for Hickory Yarns as a dye house supervisor for over 40 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed antique cars and being outdoors in his garden. Survivors include his wife, Wanda “Kay” Starnes Phillips of the home; one son, Clarence Allen Phillips and wife Sandie of Hudson; three brothers, J.D., Beno, and Kenneth Phillips all of Granite Falls; three sisters, Thula Mae Drum and Judy Gilson both of Hildebran and Kathleen Ellis; one grandson, Justin Eugene Phillips; and four great-grandchildren, Abbie Grace Phillips, Emma Grace Phillips, Wyatt Allen Eugene Phillips and Abigail Mullinax. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
