Bill’s Obituary Bill Selle, 63, of Mt. Zion, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. A Liturgy service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with a Memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society. Bill was born on December 28, 1955 at St. Mary’s Hospital to Howard and Agnes Moore Selle, who have preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his brother, Howard (Anita) Selle; sister, Judith Selle; nieces, Tina (David) Uphoff, Inken Cradic, Kirsten (Blake) Miller; nephew, Derek (Aimee) Sampson; aunts, Jeanette Moore, Maxine Selle, and Margery Hixson; uncle, Joe Selle; and many wonderful cousins and friends. Bill graduated from Cerro Gordo High School. He moved to Houston, became a surveyor, working for Satellite Positioning Corporation of Houston. One of his favorite projects was the remapping of the Burlington Northern Rail System. He then traveled to Europe to remap parts of their rail system. After moving back to Illinois in 2000 to help care for our father, Bill worked for Decatur Auction Sales. He enjoyed the work and his co-workers. Bill loved to watch NASCAR, the Astros, and his lifetime favorite, the Cubs. In earlier years Bill had a ‘Cuda that he drag raced at Assumption.
