Alice Hass Pope May 28 2019

Alice Hass Pope, 82, of Asheboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Grover A. Hass and Bertha Ella Rader Hass. Alice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was retired from Brubaker & Associates as a secretary. After retirement, she volunteered at Christians United Outreach Center. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Pope; brothers, Harry Hass and George Hass; sister, Lois Cook and husband, Wilson, Fern Beard and husband, Murriel, and Mary Sue Spencer and husband, James “J.C.”. Alice is survived by her son, Douglas; sister-in-law, Ann Hass; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741-5000 or at bestfriends.org/donate/make-gift-memory.
