DeJarnette May 30, 1938 – April 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Ronald Eugene DeJarnette, age 80, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born May 20, 1938 in McQuady, KY to the late Franklin Eugene and Margaret Bland DeJarnette. His siblings: sisters, Anna-Lois Earl and Phyllis Mitchell and brothers, Bob DeJarnette, Barney Thomas DeJarnette, and Donald Dean DeJarnette also preceded him in death. Ron took great pride in his family and loved and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron worked for Blankenship Landfill and Duke’s Construction in Louisville, was an equipment operator at Fort Knox, and owned and operated DeJarnette Construction since 1981. His many hobbies included: watching cowboy movies and television shows, watching and feeding the birds, working puzzles, collecting caps, listening to music and dancing, spending time with his family and friends, and laughing as often as possible. Ron was able to enjoy traveling on his motorcycle visiting family and friends. He also helped raise two of his nephews and was always eager to help everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Mary DeJarnette of Brandenburg; four children: Anita (Alan) Weinstein of Port Richey, FL, Gary (Kathy) DeJarnette of Port Richey, FL, Regina Embry of New Port Richey, FL, and Gene DeJarnette of Brandenburg; sister, Marietta (Butch) Kerrick of Brandenburg; nine grandchildren: Christopher, Cory, Caylin, Samantha, Kevin, Matthew, Kyle, Cody, and Donnie; and 13 great-grandchildren: Liberty, Ian, Colin, McKayle, Kierre, James John, Issac, Andrew, Aiya, Ellis, Grayson, Audrey, and Aubrey. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. EDT from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. EDT at the funeral home.
