Marydana’s Obituary Marydana Dotts (née Loudin), age 72, died on April 27, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Born in Parkersburg, WV, where she spent her early years, Marydana moved to Delaware County at age seven. She was a resident of the Wallingford/Media area for 65 years. Upon graduating from Nether Providence High School, Marydana pursued her passion for music and education. She studied at Westminster Choir College and then graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Music specializing in organ performance. She later attended the Philadelphia Restaurant School. Marydana was definitely a force to be reckoned with. As a single Mom she poured her boundless energy into making a wonderful life for her two boys as they grew up. Then she turned her nurturing talents to many years of work as a teacher’s aid with Aspergers students in the Rose Tree Media School district. She was a trained chef and spent hours making gourmet dishes for family, school and community festivities. Whether a Holiday Feast or just a family dinner, the care and love she put into her cooking always came through. Marydana taught music and conducted the Chorus at the Ellis School for Girls in Newtown Square and served as Organist and Choirmaster at various churches throughout the Philadelphia area. She also enjoyed travels to places like The Grand Canyon, Alaska and Puerto Vallarta with her husband Terry and Brother Bob and his husband Steve. Her creativity, energy, enthusiasm and laughter carried her through good times and not-so-good for 72 years. Marydana is survived by her husband of 28 years, Terry Dotts; her son Russell Galligher and his wife Kim of Malvern, son Sean Galligher and fiancée Carrie Kayser of Chesterbrook; and her grandson, Burke Galligher. She is also survived by her brothers Robert Loudin (Steve Grant) of Studio City, CA and David Loudin (Maureen) of Chagrin Falls, OH; many nieces and nephews; her dearest friend, Donna Thompkins; and her beloved Westie Lucy. There will be a memorial service and scattering of ashes this summer in Castine, ME., a place she so loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Media Little League. P.O.
